Iranian short ‘Talker’ to compete at Albanian fest

Iranian short flick ‘Talker’ has been selected to compete at the 2020 Tirana International Film Festival (TIFF) in Albania.

Written and directed by Mehrshad Ranjbar, the short film narrates the story of an old woman who has been taking care of her husband for a long time.

But an incident disturbs the order of her life.

This is the short flick’s first international competition where it will participate in the Student film competition.

The cast of the short includes Maryam Nourafkan and Abbas Jalallou.

The TIFF is an Oscar-qualifying event and the winner of the Best Short Award will be introduced to the Academy Awards.

Established in 2003, the TIFF is one of the most significant film festivals in Balkans.

The event is a place for different cultures to come together and interact.

The upcoming edition of the festival will be held online due to coronavirus pandemic on September 19-25.
